Senior Rewards Specialist - Spain and Portugal

Summary

As part of the People & Culture team for Spain and Portugal, the Senior Rewards Specialist leads regional compensation activities such as benchmarking, internal equity, salary reviews, and job offer evaluations. You’ll also help define local frameworks, including salary bands and ranges, using internal and external data.

In this role, you will drive projects on compensation, job architecture, and pay equity audits, ensuring organizational structures and job profiles are accurate. You’ll oversee benefits adoption, propose improvements, and collaborate on initiatives involving HRIS, committees, and HR analytics to enhance the overall rewards strategy.

Key responsibilities

Compensation for Individuals

  • Benchmark compensation and benefits for internal and external candidates.

  • Support annual salary and bonus processes, ensuring compliance with policies.

  • Manage individual cases (offers, transfers, promotions) and negotiate conditions.

  • Educate employees on rewards to enhance satisfaction and retention.

Compensation Framework

  • Monitor and audit compensation practices; propose improvements.

  • Assess market competitiveness and identify enhancement opportunities.

  • Recommend and implement benefits that improve employee experience and ROI.

  • Oversee special compensation programs for targeted populations.

Global Grading & Job Architecture

  • Maintain accurate grading structures and job architecture.

  • Conduct job evaluations and advise on grade adjustments for key roles.

  • Act as local expert for grading tools and liaise with global committees.

  • Ensure organizational structure and job catalog are updated and understood.

Share Match Plan

  • Lead regional implementation of the Share Match Plan and handle employee communication.

  • Adapt global policies locally and coordinate with payroll and external providers.

Other P&C Projects & Collaboration

  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and committees (e.g., Diversity & Inclusion).

  • Provide organizational and employee data to support People & Culture initiatives.

The ideal candidate

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an HR Department in an international / multinational company, with strong focus on rewards. 

  • Advanced user of Excel. Good user of Powerpoint and Word.

  • Workday knowledge is a plus.

  • Experience with Analytics and BI/Big Data tools is a plus

  • Fluent English
