Our product teams work in an interdisciplinary and solution-oriented manner using agile methods. The platform represents the "home base" of the employees and ensure their professional development, especially in the SAP Basis environment up to SAP (Basis) certification.

Within platform “SAP Basis & Operations” we are creating a new position to strengthen our SAP operations as we transition to a fully managed service model across all SAP environments. As an SAP Authorization Service Delivery Engineer, you will take a key role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and compliance of SAP authorization services delivered by our external Managed Service Provider (MSP).

This position has a strong focus on SAP Authorization governance, role and access concepts, quality assurance, and coordination. You will contribute your hands-on expertise in SAP authorization topics on a conceptual and operational level, while acting as the internal expert counterpart for authorization-related activities performed by the MSP. Although you will not execute administrative changes yourself, you will review, guide, validate, and challenge authorization-related implementations and ensure alignment with internal requirements, compliance standards, and connected systems.

In addition, you will support SAP transformation initiatives by ensuring that authorization requirements and target access concepts are embedded early into project design and implementation. This includes contributing to authorization strategy and concept work in initiatives such as S/4HANA transformations, SAP landscape harmonization, cloud and SAP BTP adoption, and the introduction of new SAP applications or operating models.

This role is ideal for an experienced SAP authorization professional who combines technical depth with conceptual thinking, structured coordination, and a strong understanding of secure and compliant SAP access management.

What requirements do you need to meet? 

• Completed studies in business administration, technical environment or equivalent education

• Strong expertise in SAP Authorizations, including role design, authorization concepts, access governance, and segregation of duties
• Solid understanding of SAP landscapes and technical dependencies, ideally with SAP Basis knowledge; SAP certifications are an advantage
• Familiarity with cloud and hybrid SAP environments such as SAP BTP, GCP, and related architectures
• Experience in SAP authorization management in complex system environments, including collaboration with external service providers or managed services
• Experience supporting SAP transformation projects such as S/4HANA migrations, rollout programs, system consolidations, or cloud transformation initiatives

• Experience in coordinating external partners and ensuring high-quality service delivery
• Strong communication skills, structured thinking, and a collaborative working style
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a proactive mindset

Your Tasks

SAP Authorization Expertise 

• Act as the internal expert for SAP authorization-related topics across different SAP environments
• Review, assess, and validate authorization-related change requests, role concepts, and access designs prepared by the MSP
• Support and further develop authorization concepts, including role design principles, naming conventions, access models, and SoD-aware structures
• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements, audit expectations, and security standards in authorization design and execution
• Evaluate the impact of authorization changes on connected and neighboring systems
• Ensure consistency and quality of authorization concepts during major transformations, such as S/4HANA transformation projects, cloud integrations, and SAP BTP adoption
• Provide expert guidance on authorization topics in projects, operational changes, and service transitions

• Assess transformation impacts on existing roles and access models, and help define required redesigns for new business processes, organizational changes, and application architectures
• Guide the development of authorization concepts for SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, and hybrid application scenarios

• Monitor the quality and timeliness of MSP execution in the area of SAP authorizations

Service Delivery Coordination

• Act as the main internal counterpart to the MSP for SAP authorization operations and service-related topics
• Coordinate authorization-related activities between internal stakeholders, product teams, and the MSP
• Ensure proper handover, documentation, and alignment for authorization changes handled externally
• Escalate operational issues and quality concerns where necessary
• Support the continuous improvement of authorization services, processes, and governance structures
• Contribute to the integration of new technologies and processes related to SAP security and access management
