We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Hosting team in Barcelona, Spain. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, production-grade applications that sit at the intersection of infrastructure, hardware, and application layers. Our Hosting team supports critical systems that require deep Linux and Windows expertise, automation, and performance focus, and we would love to speak with you if you have strong experience operating and scaling complex application ecosystems.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience managing Linux and windows systems in large-scale production environments.

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with enterprise-grade hardware in data center environments, including hardware troubleshooting.

  • At least 2 years of experience with Bash/ Python/ PowerShell scripting for automation and system operations.

  • Proven experience with virtualization, containerization, and production monitoring using tools such as Nagios, Datadog and Pingdom.

  • Strong knowledge of networked storage (iSCSI, NFS), core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/REST, SSL), and troubleshooting of email deliverability mechanisms (SPF, DKIM).

It would be great if you also have…

  • Experience with DevOps concepts and configuration management/deployment tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform and Jenkins.

  • Exposure to public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Software development experience in Java, C++, or similar languages.

  • Familiarity with database systems (such as MSSQL and Postgres), including query writing, performance analysis, and replication.

  • Experience working with third-party vendors and contributing to project planning, budgeting, or technical documentation.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Ensure the daily functionality, performance, and security of production applications and platforms.

  • Act as an escalation point for Support teams to resolve customer issues

  • Collaborate closely with R&D and Infrastructure Engineering teams on:

    • Infrastructure sizing, provisioning, and capacity planning.

    • Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.

    • Diagnosing hardware and networking issues in partnership with Engineering teams and support teams.

    • Platform upgrades, updates, and migrations, including firmware, databases, and application code.

    • Backup strategies and disaster recovery planning.

  • Automate and improve the application ecosystem using appropriate tools and frameworks.

  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend process and tooling improvements.

  • Own and manage long‑term technical initiatives, acting as an SME for application and automation components.

  • Monitor and manage capacity usage, operational costs, and budgets.

  • Provide escalation support for R&D and Product/ Support teams.

  • Contribute as a technical architect and support junior engineers with knowledge sharing.

About the Team

The Innovative Hosting team works at the intersection of infrastructure, hardware, and application platforms, supporting large-scale, mission‑critical products used globally. The team collaborates closely with R&D, Infrastructure Engineering, and Product teams across multiple regions to ensure reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of our systems. This is a globally distributed team, working across time zones to support always-on services.

Hours of Work

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), permanent position, working primarily during core business hours CET, with flexibility to collaborate with global teams.
This is a hybrid role, with 2–3 days per week working from our Barcelona office near Sagrada Familia.
