Climate Data & Delivery Lead

Description -

About the Role

The Climate Data & Delivery Lead plays a critical role in strengthening delivery discipline, technical clarity, and data reliability across HP’s Climate Team. This role sits at the intersection of Climate Data,  data analytics, sustainability expertise, and technical project management, ensuring that complex climate and LCA work is delivered with rigor, transparency, and consistency.

Operating as a core member of a highly interdependent Climate Team, this role focuses on how work gets done: establishing cadence, improving documentation and information flows, reducing operational friction, and ensuring that climate data and outputs are fit for reporting, decision‑making, and customer engagement. The role requires strong technical curiosity, the ability to engage deeply in analytical discussions, and the communication skills to translate complexity into clear, actionable narratives.

This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure across a broad spectrum of Climate work—from LCA and climate data products to reporting and disclosures—while building deep skills in delivery leadership and sustainability transformation. If you are passionate about applying technology and strong program execution to drive climate impact and operational excellence, this opportunity is for you.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery, Governance & Technical Rigor

  • Establish and maintain a structured project management cadence across Climate & LCA work in the Climate Team, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly defined and met.
  • Maintain and continuously improve technical and process documentation, supporting operational resilience, onboarding, and audit readiness.
  • Review and approve data and documentation submissions for reporting requirements (e.g., SIR), ensuring quality, traceability, and consistency.
  • Engage deeply in technical discussions to:
    • Understand data flows, dependencies, and constraints
    • Anticipate delivery risks and sequencing challenges
    • Surface issues early and drive pragmatic resolution
  • Proactively troubleshoot delivery and technical challenges, while reducing recurring “firefighting” through improved systems, documentation, and processes.
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, clarity, and shared accountability across the Climate Team.

Climate Data, LCA & Systems Enablement Project Management

  • Develop and maintain a strong working understanding of the LCA engine, carbon data models, and reporting outputs to effectively manage delivery and sequencing of climate data projects.
  • Take direct ownership of assigned Climate Team projects from initiation through delivery. Projects may include:
    • Technical initiatives involving data, LCA models, and analytics tooling
    • Climate disclosure and regulatory readiness projects
    • Cross-functional coordination projects supporting reporting, customer requests, or internal readiness

Cross‑Functional Engagement & Communication

  • Provide technical project management support for key initiatives, ensuring alignment across multiple interdependent workstreams.
  • Communicate complex technical topics clearly and persuasively to leadership and cross‑functional audiences, translating analysis into implications and recommendations.
  • Regularly present insights that support decision‑making, prioritization, and alignment across Climate, GPC & SI, GBUs, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.

Ways of Working

  • Operate as a core contributor within a highly collaborative, interdependent Climate Team spanning carbon, LCA, reporting, and decarbonization.
  • Apply a systems mindset, balancing long‑term architecture and data integrity with practical, incremental delivery.
  • Reinforce a culture of clarity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate a strong bias for simplification, ensuring complex technical topics are translated into accessible, actionable guidance.
  • Work effectively in matrixed environments, navigating ambiguity while maintaining momentum and delivery discipline.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in sustainability data systems, environmental modeling, product engineering or related technical fields.
  • Experience in LCA methodologies, carbon accounting methodologies is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets, with a focus on data quality, traceability, and usability.
  • Strong data analytics and technical fluency, including the ability to understand data models, pipelines, analytical tools, and system integrations.
  • Experience working with data‑intensive or analytical platforms, even if not as a hands‑on developer.
  • Proven ability to coordinate work across multiple interdependent technical workstreams.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies, including adapting agile principles to complex, non‑standard environments.
  • Strong organizational, project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to:
    • Engage credibly with technical experts
    • Translate complexity into clear delivery narratives for non‑technical audiences
  • Experience operating in matrixed, cross‑functional environments with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term vision and near‑term execution.
  • Mission‑driven orientation with a strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
